Caverta is Ranbaxy’s version of Sildenafil Citrate, the prescription drug found in Viagra. It is a medication designed to treat erectile dysfunction.
When a man becomes sexually aroused, blood vessels should widen to allow more blood to flow into the penis. When that blood enters the caverns of the penis, the result is an erection. However, men suffering from erectile dysfunction may not have operative blood vessels; that is, the blood vessels in the penis may not be relaxing enough for the proper amount of blood to flow inside. Also, the blood vessels that should compress to maintain a level of blood inside the penis may not contract the way they should, resulting in a man being unable to maintain an erection, should he achieve one.
Caverta hopes to address these problems. While the drug itself (Sildenafil Citrate) has shown it can be effective in some men, many men with erectile dysfunction are looking for herbal, natural solutions to treat themselves. The benefit of herbal remedies is the lack of serious side effects (in some cases, no side effects at all) and the ease of obtaining these formulas. To further this, many man who desire to take the medication are not given permission from their doctors due to negative interaction with other prescription drugs they may be taking.
